La Jerga: Periodismo Gonzo Independiente

La Jerga: Periodismo Gonzo Independiente (Independent Gonzo Journalism) is a free, bilingual (Spanish and English), gonzo newspaper established in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico in April 2003, that has been publishing consistently monthly for the past four years.

La Jerga is the voice of the alternative culture and is an independent current which strives to inform, and above all entertain, their readers with a unique perspective and non-conventional gonzo journalism.

The print version of La Jerga is currently distributed freely throughout the central Mexican cities of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Querétaro and León and is available online each month for free at the paper's website.

Apart from articles, investigations, interviews, columns, film and book reviews, humor and parody sections, La Jerga offers an ample music section dedicated to covering live musical performances and reviews of national and international record releases.

They include among their sponsors: the Expresión en Corto International Film Festival, the Festival Internacional Cervantino, the University of Guanajuato and the Instituto Cultural de León.

La Jerga is one of the flagship independent newspapers in the new wave of Latin American free press.
